I don’t count calories burned in exercise when I want to drop body fat. This is pointless to me unless you have an emotional irrational attachment to numbers? Maybe you are related to “Pythagoras of Samos”?
People have their ladder on the wrong wall when they measure things that won’t lead them to their objective. You can work your ass off on that ladder, but it is on the wrong wall!
The general population are obsessed with their body “weight” (number) when they they should thinking their muscle to body fat ratio. Focus on your body’s composition; not weight. This is a better and healthier measurement!
Knowing how much calories burned while exercising is never “precise” unless you have an olympic gold medal standard scientists monitoring you while you are training. So don’t be so obsess with looking at your watch. Focus on your work!
It is not calories but glycogen in muscle that needs to be depleted during exercise. You want to burn carbs (glycogen) not “calories” while exercising to lose bodyfat or build muscle mass.
I won’t get geeky with the exercise science about energy systems and metabolism, but here is what you need to do to to burn body day.
1. Do a compound movement (exercise)
2. Select the right load
3. Repeat the movement for 30sec to 1min.
4. You should feel tired and depleted after doing it.
5. Rest and repeat step 1. ;) rest longer if you need it- less rest to make it harder.
The goal is to deplete glycogen in that set! Go crush it!

Friday Five Fitness Tips
1. Your body is either making it (anabolic) or breaking it (catabolic). Every diet plan (raw, paleo, vegan, etc) follows this biological law.
2. There is no sin in being fat or skinny! Obesity is a sign of malnutrition; not gluttony! Starvation is a sign of malnutrition; not self discipline! Judge wisely.
3. Doing what you don’t like is the start of self mastery. Bragging about what you’re good at is what the mediocre idiots do. Challenge your limits!
4. First food, then Exercise. You don’t drive or make a new car without having money/fuel first!
5. Without love your health is at risk and your strength has no function.
